What's in a tree can make all the difference and how it grows can affect how it will react when installed. Murray has been selecting logs for almost 30 years and knows how to pick the best... Sometimes that means selecting logs that will work for specific design projects, which may not fit the standardised measurements. Experience means a lot and when it comes to selecting trees for weatherboard, beams or furniture, we've been doing it for a long time.
Pure Wood is our initiative to raise the profile and sustainability of natural timber products, especially cypress timbers. Our aim is to work with farmers and plantation owners to not only continue the practice of re-planting, but also to ensure New Zealand is always taken care of with a healthy supply of cypress timbers. SAWMILLING
MacDirect at it's core is a Sawmill. We are experienced in the process of milling timber to cater to the needs of the building industry. We run three main bandsaws that run all the time producing standard timber sizes, but being a small sawmill, we are able to cut specific sizes to suit your project.
Our mills are all bandsaws and we process logs up to 800mm in diameter in lengths up to 8.5 metres.
Mac/Cypress timbers are unique and the process for mill these timbers are very different to standard pine. If you'd like to know more please contact us.
BEAMS AND STRUCTURAL
We are one of the few mills able to custom cut solid, natural timber posts and beams to order. It's important to understand how and where you can use a MacDirect Beam, Post or Structural grade timber. Select from the options below.
